Mother's Day Gift Planning

Hello everyone! I hope you have all had a great saturday to start off your weekend.

With Mother's Day right at a week away, I wanted to give you all a few ideas to make Mother's Day special without zapping your budget!

Let's just face it… we have to be smarter than the stores when it comes to Holidays. The store prices are always insanely marked-up and the aisles are packed with goodies that cost way to much because they know you are going to buy it, if you feel the least bit desperate. To go with that desperate feeling, I always have a "let-down feeling" when I walk away with a gift from "the aisle". I feel like I haven't spent the due time in really picking out that perfect gift. I love holidays, birthdays, etc. and I love for them to feel special and perfect. I really like knowing that I have spent time in picking out the right gift, decorations, or whatever else I am purchasing for that special day.

What I don't like about Holidays are those "Holiday Prices"… So, how can I (and YOU) avoid them?

Here are just a few simple ideas for this Mother's Day… ways that you can make a big statement to your Mother and not fall for the Holiday gimmicks.

1) Buy several simple bouquets from a local store and add them together making your own arrangement. This can be thrifty still yet make a big statement to your Mother. You will end up paying a fraction of the cost you would pay at a local flower shop for the same amount of flowers.

2) Order flowers from 1-800 Flowers and have them delivered straight to your Mom's front door. Use a local promotion to save money! You can order potted plants as well…. great idea for a long-lasting gift.

Listen to a local radio station for a radio host promotion code. (This works great!)

3) Make your own dark chocolate covered strawberries and drizzle them with white chocolate. Do this instead of buying them pre-made. They are simple and very fun to make (and a whole lot cheaper).

Let your Mother know how special she really is to you by giving her a thoughtful gift this Mother's Day. By planning and preparing ahead of time, you can still give a beautiful gift for a fraction of the cost. If you wait until the last minute, chances are you're probably going to spend a whole lot more money than your budget allows. Instead, take time to explore your options and make a good choice. Give a gift so special that she will remember it for years to come.

Have a great evening!
